Offers & Requests
Offer & Request
Within Ludum Vitae sphere offers and requests are a big part of negotiation. The list is as follows:
- Role assignment (for non-emergent roles)
- Bond offers and requests
- Peer review
Two pages will exist to handle these requests.
- Offers
- Requests
Offers
The ownership Offers page contains
- Offers IN (From)
- Offers Out (To)
These are Unsolicited Requests made to others or Request you have received.
Requests
The Ownership Requests page contains
- Requests IN (From)
- Requests Out (Of)
These are Solicitations, when viewing Requests Out you can see your sent requests or create a new request. Requests in are ones you have received.
Usage
The offer and request feature is used for these Roles:
- Gem Ownership/Stewardship
- Gem Validator
- Bond Ownership/Stewardship
Responding to Requests
The Bond Offer and Request is the most complex. This allows the requestor to offer ownership and potentially request ownership.
The page display two button options, Accept or Deny as well as a Token Tip amount and a comment.
The comment is used to give feedback, perhaps suggesting a different amount.
Canceling Sent Requests & Offers
This is easy and can be done at any time, by viewing the sent requests. The sphere will not refund the Tokens charged to create the request.
Ignoring Requests
That is the social/sphere equivalent of IGNORING someone asking you a direct question. We already have mechanisms in place to punish people who do not engage. Ignoring a request is worse than denying. Ludum Vitae depends on clear signaling, requests will have an x-cycle lifespan. If it dies without a response the non-responder (recipient) is punished and the ignorant person’s wallet targeted for diminution. This is the most egregious form of inactivity. Human-to-human communications enacted within the system are the highest, most complex form of attention metric we can possibly have, and for someone to ignore a request is tantamount to an employee ignoring a boss within a company, or a student ignoring a teacher in school, or a child ignoring their father in a family. It is NOT tolerated and definitely grounds for sphere punishment.
Tributes
Tributes are optional Tips can be given both when Accepting or Denying the request made. This is a powerful tool in the negotiation process and we want to be able to reward people for thoughtful actions that might lead to more collaboration later even if the request is denied.
3rd Parties
Eventually we plan to have a feature for allowing any Member suggest Bond's and other roles. Observing who might be able to work with each-other can be very valuable.
