Core Features
Sphere Tokens
A Ludum Vitae sphere is designed to hold a base asset(crypto, fiat, or other) and sphere tokens. Sphere tokens are unique to each sphere and cannot be withdrawn from the sphere.
The Basics
Tokens are the resource in the sphere that assist in 4 game actions each cycle:
- Attention
- Manifestation
- Maintenance
- Diminution
Creating the sphere
Upon creating a sphere you select your base asset and configure some tokenomic settings for your sphere.
The Underlying Asset
This is the underlying backing asset that backs the sphere tokens within Ludum Vitae. This can be bitcoin or another cryptocurrency, even USD. A USD backed sphere would have several drawbacks.
Sphere Tokens
Sphere tokens pay for the running of the sphere and the game dynamics within. You cannot withdraw them from the sphere, they must be exchanged.
More Details
Each sphere manages its own internal token wallet. We plan to eventually allow this wallet to have blockchain features. Each sphere operates its own unique token ecosystem with a different exchange rate between the base asset and the sphere tokens.
In some cases a sphere can have a negative token balance not exceeding 100% of it’s originally allocated tokens if configured. A sphere will become suspended if the balance of the underlying asset goes to zero.
Wallets
The sphere transacts the sphere tokens between many wallets within the system.
- Member Wallets
- Member Bot Wallet
- Main sphere wallet
- Each Gem has a wallet
Reserved Tokens
Tokens reserved for actions like "Offers & Requests" are held in the selected expense wallet. Each wallet will have a count of how many tokens are reserved (obligated).
Transfer
Tokens within a sphere are transferred between the wallets only during the cycle time. The sphere tokens you have in your wallet will effect the GEM’s you interact with.
Diminution
Diminution is a very important feature, it insures token velocity by giving Diminution to inactive and poorly performing wallets, see the Diminution page for more information.
Values Staking
Tokens are Staked on values.
- Tokens staked on sphere creation are not withdrawable.
- Tokens staked by Members are withdrawable.*
*Withdrawing additional stake is likely capped at 90% of your contribution and there will be a waiting period on value stake withdrawals.
Accounting
The total of all the tokens in all wallets of the sphere is always known by the LV software managing the sphere.
Some spheres will have a blockchain Merkle tree of transactions for sphere tokens, at minimum the log files will contain transaction history.
Inflation Ratio
A sphere may expand its token count to a maximum level defined when the sphere is created. As users buy in or withdraw value the ratio of tokens to underlying value changes.
Remember when a member buys sphere tokens they are being created as the underlying asset is increased. The sphere could under or over create new tokens based on the desired target ratio.
Inflation Limit
If the sphere started with $1:100 tokens approximate, a inflation limit would likely be $1:200. The sphere creator could customize this limit.
Game Theory & Negative Balance
A sphere wallet has a minimum token value, this blocks sphere from having too much inflation.
GEM and Member wallets are subject to greater diminution before the sphere balance hits zero.
It’s possible that in some configurations of LV Sphere wallet could go negative, however we would prefer to keep it positive. This is done by over-issuing tokens and the purchasing power of the tokens drops. The sphere would take more and more tokens to pay for GEM’s etc.
Warning
Activating this feature could inflate the value of your tokens such a value you experience hyperinflation and a dramatic reduction in purchasing power.
Restarting a sphere
A sphere can be restarted, given enough buy-in to bring it back to functioning status.
Token Withdrawal
We offer a detailed overview on Payouts.
