Core Features

Bonds

Bond : a uniting or binding element or force

In Ludum Vitae, bonds are used to create interconnected and dependent gems that foster collaboration and a sense of community. When a user creates a bond between two or more gems, they are essentially linking these gems together in a way that allows them to influence each other's value.

Bonds

A bond can be offered or requested by either Gem Owner and can also be suggested by a 3rd party between two Gems in which they do not own.

Bonds are offered in the direction of support, if you are helping someone with a task (with your Gem) then you are bonding to that Gem and its outcome.

Fees

To setup a new bond, the Sphere charges a one time Creation Fee for each direction it is configured for. A two-way bond may charge both Gem's the creation fee if accepted.

Gems also pay a Cycle Fee every cycle to keep a bond established, this is visible at creation time.

All fees are estimated at the time of bond submission, bonds only go into effect when the sphere cycles.

Rejection

A bond request that is denied by the Gem owner is kept by the sphere, and redistributed.

Bond Requests

Bonds must be unanimously accepted by gem owners. Gems are the primary targets of diminution. Followed by owner wallets, followed by bonds.

Diminution

The algorithm used in Ludum Vitae calculates the projected diminution of each gem based on various factors, including attention, investment using tokens, and bonds between gems. When two or more gems are bonded together, their values are interconnected, meaning that the success of one gem can have a positive or negative impact on the other gems in the bond.

For example, if a user creates a bond between two gems with different potential for growth, the algorithm will calculate the projected diminution of each gem based on its individual properties and the bond it has with the other gem. If the bonded gems are successful, their combined value will increase, and this success can be used to further increase the value of other gems in the sphere.

Bonds also help to stabilize gems when they are dependent or preceding gems. This helps to mitigate the negative effects of diminution and attention loss.

Diminution Priority

  1. Bottom 20% of Inactive/least active users for X cycles sorted by wallet size Descending, Activity Ascending - top-weighted randomized amounts as % within configurable range of wallet
  2. All un-bonded gems, sorted by attention metrics in reverse engagement order - top-weighted randomized as configurable max % of gem wallet
  3. All Bonds connected to inactive gems (either end)
  4. Top 80% of users sorted by wallet size Descending, Activity Ascending top-weighted randomized amounts as configurable max % of gem wallet
  5. All remaining bonded gems, sorted by attention metrics in reverse engagement order - top-weighted randomized as configurable max % of gem wallet

Bond limits

There can only be two bonds between two GEM's

  • GEM A <- GEM B
  • GEM A -> GEM B

A pair of GEM's with two bonds is considered to have a mutual bond. However the flow of Tokens(support) may not be equal.

It may be possible to get a discount for creating a mutual bond once the interface supports it. At first we intend to only offer the creation of a one way bond, this must be done twice to get the effect of a mutual bond.

To put simply the Bonds are generally established in the direction of support.

Bond Roles

Bonds have a limited set of roles, and limited number of owners creating a scarce resource within the sphere.

Bonds share a limited set of roles most similar to GEMS. It is possible that different versions of Ludum Vitae my experiment with adding bond roles.

The non-major roles are assigned by based on the behavior of the Members interacting with the Bond. In other words the role is given as an emergent property.

Visit Roles for a table.

Create A Bond

A source and target is created, this display the creation fee if accepted.

Bond Ownership

During setup you are offered the ability to both Request Ownership in the Target Sphere, or Offer Ownership in your sphere.

Bond Creation Fee

The Member selects the wallet they want to withdraw the fee from.

Other features

  • Visible next cycle timer
  • Estimated Cycle Income
  • Token Reward Deposit Location
  • Automatic approval if stewardship role or greater in both Gem's

You should know!

A bond can be suggested by a 3rd party, as in a person that does not have any ownership or stewardship over either Gem in question. This allows Members to specialize in identifying opportunities that they are then rewarded for if successful.
